I'll be exhibiting several large paintings for the month of May at Chase Young Gallery, one of the premier contemporary art galleries in Boston. Opening reception Friday May 3d from 6 to 8pm. Hope to see you there. I'm pictured here in my studio reviewing Agate, 72" x 60", before bringing it in for the show.
My great pleasure spending the afternoon with the great Ronnie Landfield at his studio in the Hudson Valley. His monumental canvases are really somethiing to behold, and match his monumental career. Ronnie's was in his first Whitney Biennial at age 20, and was in it again years later. His paintings are in the collections of all the major museums in America. Lots of fun talking shop.
Happy to announce I will be represented in the Hamptons by The White Room Gallery. Sinfonia, 60" x 60", mixed media on canvas is one of my works available there.
Nice turn out at Coastal Contemporary Gallery in Newport Rhode Island for the opening of their winter show. Exhibition will be up until January 20th. Glad to be part of it.
Happy to announce I'll be represented by Coastal Contemporary Gallery in Newport, Rhode Island. I really like what owner/artist Shari Rubeck is up to there, and am glad to be chipping in as one of her gallery artists. More info to come. Below: Basalta & Saltarelloa, mixed media paintings on canvas, each 48" x 48"
Mobbed in Boston's SoWa arts district last night for several openings. I have Zoisite, (60" x 60" shown here), up at Galatea Fine Art there through the end of summer. Lots of fun running on to several of my artists friends there. Jeannie Motherwell, John Pagano, Marica Wise and Nella Lush are all showing great work on the block. Well worth to the trip.
Rose and David, two collectors from San Diego bought a large 5 ft. x 5 ft. painting of mine from my California gallery last year and stopped by my studio the other day here in Massachusetts to say hello. Always very nice to meet face to face.
My tremendous pleasure meeting the great New York artist Francine Tint at a party in the Hamptons a few nights ago. Studio visit exchanges now in the works. She's collected in museums across the country and is highly regarded in upper level artistic circles. Check out her work... the real deal.
Happy to have this really nice interview in the current issue of BostonVoyager magazine. Click link for article. Many nice pics of recent work at the bottom of the interview.
http://bostonvoyager.com/interview/check-david-skillicorns-artwork/ Very nice turn out at Diana Felber Gallery opening last night. A real pleasure to be exhibiting with a few artists I've only come to know out in virtual social media world. Nice to see the work in person of Judith Kruger, Linda Bigness, Ali Moshiri, Jennifer Pazienza and Tracey Maroni. Great looking show, and I'm honored to be showing along side these stellar artists.
