Happy to have these two paintings go to a beautiful home in Nantucket. (Harmonia series, 48” x 60” & 48” x 48”)
Thank you Julie Mussafer and her team for the wonderful placement. In the studio evaluating my latest series, Harmonia, large textured mono-stroke color field paintings.
Honored to receive the Saara Parker Painting Prize for The Wilsons, 72" x 60", oil on canvas which has been on view all summer at the Fitchburg Art Museum's 86th annual juried exhibition. The painting is one of a series of life-sized surrealist portraits I'm painting exploring ideas of identity.
Here are a few pictures of the opening of my solo show at Chase Young Gallery in Boston, up through May 14
Happy to report that I have signed on with the superb Merritt Gallery/Renaissance Fine Arts group with premier galleries in Washington DC, Baltimore and Philadelphia. Seventeen large works sent their way, including Alchemy 15-5, 40" x 72" pictured here, from my latest series of paintings.
Solo show now up at Whitney Modern in Calif through Oct 10th, includes
Botánica 12-8, 60" x 60", pictured here. Here is a small commissioned painting I've made for the permanent collection at Imagery Estate Winery, which will also be used as a label on a select bottling of wine next year. The only request was that their icon of the Parthenon had to be in the painting somehow, whatever way I chose. Well, there it is!
Past commissions have gone to the likes of Sam Gilliam, Sol Le Witt, Kiki Smith, John Baldessari, Ed Moses, Pat Steir, Terry Winter and Ricardo Mazal, all artists I've studied and admired for years, so I'm quite honored to have been tapped for the gig! New representation at galleries in Philadelphia and West Palm Beach, FL. Between them, requesting 25 large scale paintings of my latest work to exhibit and have on hand. Grateful, and VERY busy prepping.
